1. How does working with Deep Current work? It starts with a short discovery call where we talk through your travel style, priorities, timing, budget and what you want the trip to feel like. From there, I design a custom itinerary tailored to you, research the best options and help you navigate accommodations, experiences, transportation and all the details in between. Where appropriate, I coordinate directly with trusted local providers; for reservations best made directly, I’ll point you in the right direction and make sure you have what you need. You’ll travel with a clear, mobile-friendly itinerary and support leading up to your trip.

2. What's included in the planning fee? Your fee covers the full design of your trip — itinerary development, personalized recommendations, accommodation and experience research, logistics and transportation planning, and support leading up to departure. Recommendations are built around your travel style and budget, drawing on more than twenty years of Costa Rica experience and trusted local relationships. One round of revisions is included.

1. Do you book everything for me? It depends on what you’re booking. I can coordinate directly with trusted local providers where appropriate, including Spanish-language communication when helpful. For hotels, activities or other reservations that are better booked directly, I’ll research the options, help you choose and point you in the right direction. Either way, you’ll know exactly what needs to be booked, by whom and when without having to figure it all out yourself.

2. How do payments work? Your $500 planning fee is paid directly to Deep Current. Travel expenses such as accommodations, activities, transportation and other services are generally paid directly to the provider. When I coordinate an arrangement with a trusted local provider, I’ll make sure you know exactly how and when payment should be made. Deep Current does not mark up your travel costs.

3. What if I’ve already booked some things?
   That’s absolutely fine! I can build your itinerary around what you’ve already booked and help make sure everything works well together. If I spot something that could meaningfully improve the trip, I’ll let you know but we’ll always start with what you already have.

1. What kinds of trips do you plan? I design trips with a balance of structure and flexibility: meaningful experiences, beautiful stays, and time to actually enjoy where you are. Trips range from relaxed coastal getaways to multi-stop adventures, family travel, and group celebrations. Every itinerary is custom designed around your goals, travel style, and pace.

2. Can you work within a budget? Always. During our discovery call we'll talk through your priorities and where you'd like to invest — whether that's accommodations, experiences, dining, or simply having more downtime. I'll be straightforward about what's realistic within your range and where small adjustments might meaningfully improve the trip.

3. Will our trip feel overly scheduled? Not at all — that's one of the things Deep Current is most intentional about. The goal is a trip that flows naturally, not one that feels like a checklist. There's always room to breathe, wander, and simply take it in.

1. Do you help while we're traveling? Yes. If you need help with an arrangement made through Deep Current, I’m here to help. For reservations or services booked directly, I’ll make sure you have the appropriate provider contact information so you know exactly who to reach if something comes up.

2.What if plans change? Things happen flights get delayed, weather shifts and plans change. If the change involves an arrangement made through Deep Current, I’ll help you navigate it. For services booked directly, I’ll make sure you have the information you need to contact the provider and make adjustments.

How do you vet your recommended partners?

Many of the guides, drivers, properties and experiences I recommend come from my own firsthand experience and relationships built over more than twenty years in Costa Rica. When I don't know someone or someplace personally, I turn to people I know and trust locally. My recommendations come from real relationships, not generic lists or paid placements. I only recommend people and places I feel confident sending my own family and friends to.

Knowing Costa Rica is about more than knowing where to stay. I speak Spanish, have spent more than twenty years traveling and living life there, and have relationships with people on the ground. That means I can ask the right questions, communicate directly with local providers and help you discover places and experiences that aren't always obvious from an online search.

Working together is fun, easy, and collaborative — not overwhelming or overly structured.

I take the lead on shaping your trip while leaving plenty of space for your preferences and ideas, creating something that feels personal without becoming over-planned.
